4th of July Style
Is it just me or has June flown by? It seems like just yesterday we were glad the temperature had finally reached 70° and now we’re planning our 4th of July weekend.
One thing is for sure when it comes to the 4th of July…I always procrastinate on an outfit.
Every year I gush over the star and striped swimsuits during the day and the red, white and blue dresses at night. Nevertheless, when the 4th rolls around I find myself desperately rummaging the nearest retail store hoping to find something cute on the picked-over shelves.
What does my procrastinating a$$ end up with? A classic USA cotton tee that I think I’ll magically DIY into a trendy look. I get out my scissors, pull up Pinterest…you know the drill.
Well, not this year my friends! I got my ish together and found myself this star-print tank from T.J. Maxx.

Who else has one of those same crappy DIY USA tees in their closet? How about an overpriced, blinged-out hoodie (why would I even buy a hoodie in summer?) from Victoria’s Secret PINK that you feel kind of silly wearing any other day of the year? I’m right there with you, sister.
That’s why I love this fun find from Tjmaxx. It’s patriotic enough without being too specific to the 4th. I love patriotic style that you can rock any other day of the year (well, summer in Wisco).
If you’re in the same boat as me, here’s some style inspiration that’s not too cheesy, not too boring, but justtttt right. Whether you’re grilling out with friends and family or hitting up the beach, I hope one of the picks below helps make your patriotic shopping adventure a little easier!
Urban Outfitters Red Polka-Dot Dress
Urban Outfitters Striped Red Strapless Jumpsuit
Forever 21 Flag Patch Denim Shorts
Shein Lace-Up Striped One-Piece Swimsuit
T and J Designs "Champagne Problems" One-Piece Swimsuit
(P.s. I just love these ladies ^ and their blog. Check it out here.)
