My Invisalign Journey: 23-week Update with Before and After Photos
As I’m writing this post, I’m approaching the 23-week mark in my Invisalign journey! Yay!
Before we dive in - friendly reminder that my followers get 10% off Invisalign through The Dentists on Bluemound. Just mention my name or “jomariemke” when you book your free consultation! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at jomariemke@gmail.com.
Let me just preface with this...I’m SO GLAD I stuck with the Invisalign treatment (not that I had much of a choice once I started and got the attachments on, ha!).
To be honest, the first month or two was quite the adjustment. Having attachments on all of my teeth was hard to get used to and I felt a little self conscious, but I quickly realized that the attachments really are not as noticeable as I think (see my Instagram 'Invisalign’ Highlights of me showing attachments with my trays on vs. not). Plus, I’m nearing the finish line and I get a few of my front attachments off in November, woot woot!
As a reminder, everyone’s Invisalign treatment is unique. I have 27 attachments in total (which is the most my Dr. has ever had to put on a patient, ha!), but I have friends that have only had 4 attachments. It’s important to have your free, in-person consultation so you’ll have a better idea of what your treatment will be.
Regardless, like I said in the beginning, I would 10/10 recommend Invisalign. Yes, this is a collaboration post and I did receive a discount for my treatment in exchange for this collaboration, but my opinions are completely my own. I’m absolutely in love with the progress / how my teeth are looking thus far. It’s incredible to see the results in (what feels like) such a short amount of time! I still have about 10-15 weeks to go, but definitely impressed by the progress made in just 23 weeks. See below for some before and afters (disclaimer: I'm clearly no good at taking teeth photos, haha!).
The picture on the left was taken the day before I started my Invisalign treatment. The picture on the right is from late last week.
As you can see, my bottom teeth have definitely had the most significant change. Prior to starting Invisalign, my teeth were so compact, which created a kind of (in my opinion) weird situation where my 4 front bottom teeth were wayyy more noticeable and made it look like I had some strange gap going on...
Now my teeth are MUCH more inline and less turned out. (See? Worth it!)
Regarding logistics on a day-to-day basis...I feel like once you’re in the swing of things, “maintenance” is very feasible. I have the fortune of working from home, so it’s a little easier for me to brush my teeth multiple times a day, etc., but regardless, grab yourself a cute little travel toothbrush and toothpaste and you’ll be good-to-go!
And, as I mentioned in my first blog post (click here to read), I’m continuously impressed and SO happy with the quality of service I receive from Dr. Tikalsky and team at The Dentists on Bluemound. Now that I’m further along, my check-ins are less frequent, BUT they are always just a call away if anything feels ‘off’ with my trays or I notice any issues. That’s just not something you’d get with going through other options like Smile Direct, in my opinion.
Stay tuned in a few more months as I post my final results and an official ‘before and after'!
P.S. click here to watch a quick clip from my Instagram on how cool the 3D image is! No gross molds at home. They scan your teeth and once you return for your consultation, you’ll get to watch your teeth transform to your perfect end results.
I hope this gives you some perspective and answers any questions you might have had! If not, feel free to shoot me an email (jomariemke@gmail.com) or DM me on Instagram (@jomariemke).
Or, better yet, head to The Dentists on Bluemound’s website to book a free consultation to get ALL the details! (And mention my name for your 10% off for treatment.)
Thanks for reading!
